Understanding the session-by-session timeline helps set realistic expectations for laser hair removal results. At Peach Lasers in Calgary, our AI system tracks progress with before-and-after follicle photos at each visit.
Session 1: The laser targets all hair currently in the active anagen growth phase (approximately 10 to 25 percent of total hair). Some hair may appear to grow back within one to two weeks as treated follicles shed. True regrowth becomes visible at three to four weeks. Session 2 (four to six weeks later): Clients typically notice a 20 to 30 percent reduction in hair density. Regrowth appears finer and lighter in colour.
Session 3: Approximately 40 to 50 percent reduction. The remaining hair grows in more slowly and patchily. Many clients report significantly less time spent on interim hair removal. Session 4: Around 60 to 70 percent reduction. Large areas may appear completely clear between sessions. Session 5: Approximately 80 percent reduction. Remaining hair is typically very fine, light, and sparse.
Session 6: Most clients achieve 90 percent or greater permanent hair reduction. Any remaining hair is usually vellus (peach fuzz) rather than terminal hair. Some clients with very dense or hormonal hair growth may benefit from one to two additional maintenance sessions. At Peach Lasers' $49 per session pricing, these additional sessions remain affordable without long-term contracts.
